just another manic Wednesday

Dear Blog,

At work right now and this girl is playing The Bangles. I swear she plays the worst music. I’m pretty sure she is not even old enough to have listened to the Bangles when they were actually popular. I haven’t heard this Bangles album in forever. Just Another Manic Monday…I distinctly remember being in my friend’s room in junior high listening to that song and jumping up and down on her bed. I’m sure we were all like “yeah Mondays are so crazy, why can’t it be Sunday cause that IS my fun day.” Tidbit I just learned from a co-worker; that song was written by Prince. I can see it…it really is their best song. Now it’s Walk Like An Egyptian. Susanna Hoffs was so cool. What is she up to now I wonder? YES… “Hazy Shade of Winter” Wasn’t that from some awesome 80s movie with Andrew McCarthy…Less Than Zero.  And Robert Downey Jr and Jami Gertz. Wow…this song is bringing back a flood of memories. If you haven’t seen Less Than Zero I highly recommend it.  See back when Robert Downey Jr. was a total coke head. Oh and Jami Gertz is the ultimate Yuppie princess.

OK so I made fun of her for playing this and now I’m totally digging it. Do you understand? do you feel the same? am I only dreaming or is this burning an eternal flame???

another day in the neighborhood

Dear blog,

Sitting at my desk at work not even trying to get any work done. It is so f*ing beautiful out why do I have to be stuck in this stinky hell hole. You can tell I really love my job. I’m actually trying very desperately to leave it but that is a story for another day. Not much going on in my life as we approach the summer. Can’t afford a real vacation so will probably spend most weekends sitting on the grass in Central Park. Saw Buffy (you may know her as Sarah Michelle Gellar) in TriBeca this weekend. She is just as cute in real life. Very tiny and she had on the highest stilletos. Don’t know how she can walk around in those things let alone slay vampires. Oh how I miss the weekly adventures of the Scooby gang. I’ve been enjoying the season 8 comic but it isn’t quite the same. Work is calling, got to run…
